paint correction IN FRESNO: One-Step vs Two-Step

Every coating starts with a free paint inspection. We measure, we look closely, and we tell you what your paint actually needs before recommending a tier. Warranty terms come in writing before you pay.

one step polish

$50 to $300

A single polishing stage that removes light swirls and restores gloss. Right for paint that is dull but not deeply damaged. Most daily drivers land here.

Takes 2-4 hours

Two Step correction

$600 to $1,200

Compounding followed by refining polish. Removes deeper defects, oxidation, and heavier swirl patterns. For paint that needs real rescue.

Takes 8-14 hours

MIDDLE OPTION

$300 to $600

The free inspection decides which level your paint needs. We will never sell you two steps when one will do.

Takes 4 to 7 hours

What PAINT CORRECTION FIXES

Swirl mark removal. That spiderwebbing you see in direct sun comes from tunnel washes and dirty towels. We polish it out properly.

Light scratches that have not gone through the clear coat.

Oxidation. That chalky, faded look Valley sun bakes into neglected paint.

Water spots and etching from Fresno hard water.

Holograms and buffer trails from a bad previous detail.

What IT CANNOT FIX

Fingernail-deep scratches are beyond correction. Rock chips that went through to primer need touch-up paint, not polishing. We check with a gauge and tell you plainly which defects are correctable and which are not, before you spend a dollar.

OUR PROCESS

01

Wash and decontaminate. You cannot correct dirty paint.

02

Paint-depth measurement, panel by panel, with a gauge. Thin paint does not get cut. Period.

03

Test spot. Because every paint system cuts differently, with German clear coats running hard and Japanese systems staying soft, we always prove the pad and compound combination on one section before committing to the whole car. You approve the result first.

04

Machine polishing: dual-action polishers, the right pad and compound for your paint.

05

Panel wipe and final inspection in proper lighting. You see the before and after side by side.

Correction is all we do here some weeks. It is a specialty, not an upsell.

TEST SPOT FIRST

You approve the result before we touch the whole car. Paint gauge before cutting. Most shops skip this. We never do.

ceramic coating FAQ

What is paint correction?

Machine polishing that permanently removes defects from your clear coat: swirls, light scratches, oxidation, water spots. It is not a wax and not a filler. Fillers hide defects for a few washes; correction actually levels the paint.

How much does paint correction cost?

One-step polish runs $50 to $300 and takes 2 to 4 hours. The middle enhancement option runs $300 to $600 and takes 4 to 7 hours. Two-step correction runs $600 to $1,200 and takes 8 to 14 hours. The free inspection decides which your paint needs, and the quote is fixed before we start.

How long does paint correction take?

One-step: 2 to 4 hours, done in a day. Middle option: 4 to 7 hours. Two-step: 8 to 14 hours, usually across two days. We give you the exact timeline at the free inspection so you can plan around it.

Can paint correction remove deep scratches?

If your fingernail catches in it, probably not. Correction works within the clear coat; scratches through to primer or metal need touch-up paint or a body shop. We test every deep scratch at inspection and tell you honestly.

What is the difference between paint correction and polishing?

Polishing is the tool; paint correction is the measured process. Anyone can run a polisher over a car. Correction means measuring paint depth, choosing the right cut, proving it on a test spot, and refining the finish. One is motion, the other is method.

Should I get ceramic coating after paint correction?

Not required, but it is the smartest next step. Correction is the mandatory prep for coating anyway, so many customers do both while the paint is already perfect. Ask us at the inspection and we will price the bundle.
